Due to everything from terrible movie choices to major personal life problems, there are so many once-famous actors that Hollywood won’t cast anymore, like Mel Gibson. Once upon a time, he starred in classics like Braveheart and The Patriot. Then, Gibson moved on to directing, helming massive hits like Apcolypto. However, it would soon all come crashing down.
Sadly, Gibson is a victim of his own fame and ill-temper. Thanks to his inability to keep quiet, a number of the actor’s offensive, albeit private, rants have made their way to the public’s ears. As a result, for some time, Tinseltown refused to have anything to do with Gibson. But, in 2016, he directed the well-reviewed war epic Hacksaw Ridge. So there might be a light at the end of the tunnel!
In case you have already forgotten, comedian-turned-serious actress Mo’nique first broke into the mainstream with the 2009 film Precious. There, playing against type, the former comedian portrayed an abusive mother with incredible skill. In fact, many believed she would win an Oscar for the role. However, it was the Oscars themselves that made Mo’nique an actor Hollywood would no longer cast.
You see, Mo’nique refused to campaign for Precious during the 2010 award season. It seems her rebellious comedian nature remained! Since she refused to work with producers and executives to promote the film, Hollywood turned their back on her. While Mo’nique says she feels betrayed, the big wigs think they have made the right decision.
