Despite the coronavirus raging on, everyone in the United States still needed to make the best of Thanksgiving 2020. That includes your favorite celebrities! Read on to see how some of the biggest stars spent the holiday…
Chrissy Teigen And John Legend
In case you didn’t know, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have vowed to forgo any outings whatsoever in 2020. However, the lack of a big dinner party did not bother the iconic couple one bit! Instead, they both posted on their social media accounts about how thankful they were for their family.
Meanwhile, Teigen found a silver lining: less cooking! “I just don’t have it in me! I’ve been doing this for 10 years with John and his family now, and I think I’ve gotten a little tired of just seeing so much food go to waste,” she said. “I don’t want to wake up at 4 in the morning the entire week anymore to get [the meal] done; I want to enjoy the meal with my family while they’re enjoying it.”
Meghan Markle And Prince Harry
Sadly, like many families worldwide, the coronavirus affected Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s plans. Apparently, the two originally had planned to return to the United Kingdom for the holidays. However, the dangers of traveling put an end to that. So, instead, they decided to remain in the United States. In addition to their newborn son Archie, Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, also joined the couple for Thanksgiving 2020.
“They are going to have a quiet dinner at home and are looking forward to celebrating their first American Thanksgiving in the States as a family,” an insider said. “They plan to enjoy a home-cooked meal with traditional Thanksgiving dishes, including recipes made with fresh vegetables from their garden.”
Everyone loves Thanksgiving! However, no one seems to love it more than actor and former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. This year, the actor jumped on Twitter to wish all his followers a happy holiday. “Happy Thanksgiving! Be thankful, be safe, and if you’re able, give back,” he wrote. Most impressively, the video also included a massive Turkey with a huge knife in front of the actor!
Schwarzenegger also took the chance to speak up for one of his favorite charities. “Every year, I donate 500 turkeys in East LA to the Hollenbeck Center. This year I couldn’t be there in person to celebrate together, but I sent the turkeys. What do you do to give back during the holidays?” he asked. What a great way to start a heartfelt conversation!
Comedian Tiffany Haddish also took to social media to share a wonderful Thanksgiving media message on Instagram. She posted photos of her helping at a previous year’s Thanksgiving Meal Donation Drive, held each year by the Laugh Factory in Hollywood. “I am already missing how it used to be. Every year I would serve the less fortunate at the for Thanksgiving,” she wrote. “This year it’s going to be way different. We’re still serving food but it will be on Sunset Boulevard and people will have to get their food and go sad yet still glad I can be of service.”
Thankfully, many of these celebrities set a good example during Thanksgiving 2020. They celebrated at home, staying safe if they spent it with family and friends. It just goes to show: the holidays can be as fun as ever, even in the age of coronavirus!
