It’s the start of a new month. While that means real-life stuff like bill and rent payment, it also means new Netflix content! If you’ve got the streaming service, these are the latest movies and shows you do not want to miss this month.

Black Mirror – June 5th

Black Mirror Season 5
Netflix

That’s right, everyone’s favorite dark, science-fiction anthology, Black Mirror, returns this month to Netflix. And it’s been a while! Outside of last year’s choose-your-own-adventure film, Bandersnatch, fans haven’t received new Black Mirror since December 2017. Furthermore, if you’re looking forward to a typical, six-episode season, adjust your expectations. This fifth season of Black Mirror will only feature three new stories of tech taking over our lives. Also, showrunner Charlie Brooker said this season will feature a bit more humor than the past, nihilistic storytelling fans are used to. Still, this season boasts some of the biggest guest stars yet, including Topher Grace (That ‘70s Show), Miley Cyrus, and Anthony Mackie (the new Captain America).

Of course, now we all know Netflix as the home of shows like Stranger Things and Black Mirror. But many forget that Netflix also creates incredible documentaries! This month, they’ll release Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese, a documentary combining two of the greatest artistic minds of the past century. Famous director Martin Scorsese (Taxi Driver, The Departed) chronicles one of the most renowned rock tours of all time: Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue Tour in 1975. At the same time, he reveals the political climate of America in the time, that made the tour so iconic. If you’re a music, or documentary, fan, this is one to not miss!

Jessica Jones – June 14th

Jessica Jones Season 3
Netflix

On a good note, the hit-Marvel show, Jessica Jones, returns to Netflix this month. Unfortunately, this also marks Jones’ final season. The show follows the titular Jessica Jones, a former superhero who sets up a detective agency, and takes place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you’ve never checked it out, now’s the perfect time to binge the first two seasons before the final season premieres this month. However, with Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, coming later this year, there’s a chance that Jessica Jones might receive another life, down the line. Hopefully!

Murder Mystery – June 14th

If you’d rather laugh all night than watch superheroes or documentaries, Murder Mystery is the right pick! Back in 2014, Netflix announced a four-movie deal with ‘90s comedy legend Adam Sandler. They’re now on their 5th film together, so they must enjoy working together! Murder Mystery also marks Sandler and Jennifer Aniston reuniting, who previously worked together on Just Go With It. This time around, Sandler plays a boring New York Cop married to Aniston, a hairdresser and murder mystery novel enthusiast. But when they take a trip to Europe, they find themselves right in a murder case only they can solve!

Unfortunately, some great movies are also leaving Netflix this month. So if you love movies like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 or Death Race, check them out before they vanish later this month! You can find a full list of everything coming to, and leaving, Netflix in June right here.
