Everyone knows that December is the time to release Christmas flicks and films ripe for awards season. However, it is also the time big studios upload new trailers for next year’s biggest blockbusters! This past month eager fans received new trailers for the next Avengers movie, Captain Marvel, and the upcoming Stranger Things season. Read on to discover everything you missed!

Warning: spoilers ahead for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Stranger Things!

Avengers 4: Endgame

The fourth Avengers movie’s trailer was easily one of the most anticipated new trailers of the year. Disney broke records yet again, with 289 million views in just 24 hours! And it’s not only got fans excited, but also speculating all over the place.

If you love the Avengers, you probably left the previous Avengers confused, upset, and more than a little sad. Most of the characters seemed to, well – die. Dissolve into thin air! The new Avengers‘, titled Avengers: Endgame, trailer still doesn’t give viewers much hope. It begins with Iron Man’s helmet, beat and bashed, and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) sending his final message as his oxygen runs out on his spaceship.

Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers, shocked and confused (just as we are!) get together yet again – to defeat Thanos. The Avengers we caught a glimpse of: Bruce Banner (aka the Hulk, but in human form), Hawkeye, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, and Ant-Man. At the end, in the background, we can hear Tony Stark’s haunting turn of phrase: “Part of the journey is the end.” Also, let us not forget that this is the last time actor Chris Evans will step into Captain America’s boots, meaning this will be an ending in more way than one.

Avengers: Endgame will be out in theaters on April 26, 2019.

Captain Marvel

Yet another film Marvel fans cannot wait for! Audiences across the world applauded Disney for picking Brie Larson (Room) to portray Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, and from the new trailers that were dropped these past few weeks – she fits the part perfectly. Oh, and a little, unknown actor named Samuel L. Jackson will co-star beside Larson.

Captain Marvel will be released before the new Avengers – as the events in Captain Marvel take place before the plot of the Endgame movie, during the 1990s. Larson plays a superhero who has been away from Earth for years and returns when an alien force begins to invade. Sound familiar? Marvel has yet to release many more details, but fans are already starting to make connections the current Avengers films. While it is not confirmed, recent Marvel movies have hinted at the possibility of time travel. Many fans think that Captain Marvel may somehow save all the Avengers from Thanos using time travel. At this point, anything’s possible!

Captain Marvel will be out in theaters on March 3, 2019.

Stranger Things – Season 3

New Trailers Stranger Things

Calling all Eggos lovers – Netflix finally released a little taste of the new Stranger Things season. However, unlike the previous new trailers we’ve discussed, which include substantial plot details, there really isn’t much in the new Stranger Things teaser. In fact, it is just a list of the names of the new episodes, accompanied by the series’ iconic 80s inspire synth soundtrack. Not a single face, monster, or frame from the actual new season.

Season 1 of Stranger Things premiered in July 2016, while season 2 debuted in October 2017. While we don’t know precisely when the new season will debut, the trailer does say it will premiere sometime next year.

What we do know about the upcoming season is that Starcourt Mall will play a large part. And it’s not just the final episode title that suggests the mall’s importance! This past July, Netflix uploaded a little trailer, which looked like it was filmed and edited with 80’s technology. The short commercial “promotes” a new mall in Hawkins (the town where Stranger Things take place).

The episode names in the trailer were:

1. “Suzie, Do You Copy?”
2. “The Mall Rats”
3. “The Case of the Missing Life Guard”
4. “The Sauna Test”
5. “The Source”
6. “The Birthday”
7. “The Bite”
8. “The Battle of Starcourt”

We’ll be on the lookout for further Stranger Things trailers, and hope that the new season will be even better than season two!
