1. Animal Love Runs In The Irwin Family
Steve Irwin is remembered not only for his awesome Australian accent and slang but for his unwavering love for animals and his dedication to their conservation. You might not know this, but Irwin was not the first in his family to have a deep love for Earth’s creatures.
Both of Irwin’s parents worked with animals in ways that Steve would later combine in his work. His mother, Lyn, was an animal rehabilitator and his father was a herpetologist. Herpetologists specialize in amphibians, which explains Steve’s fascination with crocodiles!
