It’s officially fall! That means that plenty of our most beloved TV shows, as well as some brand-new ones, will premiere in October 2019. Here are just a few of the shows we think you’d enjoy…
The Walking Dead (Season 10)
Release date: October 6
As its October, let’s start with the spookiest show out there, The Walking Dead! The tenth season of the zombie-apocalypse series will return to screens this October. Season nine received mixed reviews, as many viewers felt creators used shock-factor moments for ratings instead of following a coherent storyline or characters people care about. The season started off fine, focusing on Carl’s dreams to build a new community. However, for some reason, the creators included significant time gaps, up to six years, where the leaders fell out and grew apart. Thankfully, this season promises to focus on a new group of antagonists, “The Whisperers.” So, needless to say, fans eagerly hope the show returns to its roots this time around.
We also said goodbye to many characters last season: Rick, Maggie, Jadis/Anne, Jesus, Enid, Henry, and Tara. Meanwhile, new characters joined the fray: Yumiko, Connie, Magna, and others. Read a detailed recap here of where we left off. In short, everyone remained at Hilltop to fight a blizzard, only to hear an unknown woman’s voice on the radio, calling for help. Is it a trap? Only time will tell…
Riverdale (Season 4)
Release date: October 9
Riverdale may have started as a show for younger people; however, now everyone seems to watch the hit program! Some fans think Riverdale should have ended already, wondering if they can continue to pile on the drama and mystery. However, it does seem like the creators have something up their sleeves. We left the main four characters clinking milkshake glasses and promising themselves their senior year would be normal… and then we get a flash-forward of them all covered in blood and burning their clothes. Jughead is headless. Will they kill him off? As ridiculous as the plotline sounds, it might be just what the show needs to keep fans watching.
Limetown (Season 1)
Network: Facebook Watch
Release date: October 16
Limetown is a part of the podcasts-turned-TV show trend that’s so hot right now (much like Amazon’s Homecoming). Limetown started as a fictional true-crime story about an entire town, Limetown, that went missing, told on a podcast with the same name. It sounded so real to people, some didn’t realize it wasn’t real – including star Jessica Biel. And now, Facebook’s new streaming service, FacebookWatch, will adapt the podcast as an online-only TV Show. So, for all you true crime lovers – October 2019 is the perfect time to check out FacebookWatch.
Charmed (Season 2)
Release date: October 11
In these days of reboots and spin-offs, it was just a matter of time until someone picked up the iconic 2000’s show Charmed to remake it. For those who didn’t watch the original, the show revolves around three estranged sisters who discover their witchcraft powers after their mother’s death. While we all might be getting tired of reboots, fans enjoyed the first season of the new-Charmed! Now, season 2 will premiere, and it’s another perfect pick for this spooky month!
