Did you ever listen to a beautiful song or an empowering ballad and relate to it so much that you thought – “this was written about me!” Well, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Every couple has “their song”, a piece of music and lyrics that captures the way they feel. We all have that one song that makes us say “This is my jam!”, that one line that moves us and always will. It feels like our song, but most of us never actually inspired someone to write a song.
Still, our favorite songs usually have very real muses. Do you want to know who inspired your favorite songs? Or do you think you already know? This list may surprise you!
1. “Maybe I’m Amazed,” Paul McCartney
No one writes a love ballad like Paul McCartney – he is and always will be one of a kind. Photographer and musician, Linda McCartney (née Eastman), has inspired many of his songs. Linda supported Paul as he attempted to rebuild his career after The Beatles broke up. In honor of her love and support during this time Paul wrote Maybe I’m Amazed for her.
The line that made us feel: “Maybe I’m amazed at the way you pulled me out of time/ And hung me on a line Maybe I’m amazed at the way I really need you.”
