History surrounds us everywhere we go. Whether it’s in the monuments around the world or in the legacies we remember, history is an inseparable part of our lives. Historical photos help us reminisce about our past and show us how society has changed. Thankfully, over the years, photographers have captured some of the most amazing moments in history. Through these incredible photos, the past lives on.
Here, we’ve assembled some of the rarest historical images ever found. Also, if, like us, you’re a bit of a nostalgia fan, then these pictures are right up your alley.
1. Brigitte Bardot, Cannes 1952
Silver screen siren Brigitte Bardot was born in 1934, and by 1950 she was already on the cover of the fashion magazine Elle. The photo above was captured in the summer of 1952 when the young actress was still 17 while filming her second movie, The Lighthouse-Keeper’s Daughter. Many considered the underage Bardot’s sensually intense roles quite scandalous, and she caused quite the stir.
Since then, these historical photos have become part of Bardot’s on-going legacy. She’s now remembered for not only her incredible acting career and influential style, but as one of France’s most prominent animal rights activists.
