1. A Boing 737, Bali
Explorers found this abandoned Boeing 737, where it eerily sits on the ground between a large, natural wall and the surrounding forest. However, most interestingly, no one knows who left the plane there, how it ended up in the jungle, or why its owner abandoned it in the first place.
Some believe a local rumor that a businessman put it there to one day convert the plane into a restaurant. Supposedly, the owner abandoned the aircraft after he ran out of money to complete the project. Today, the Boeing 737 still sits on its lonely little patch of land. Since its discovery, its become a popular destination for photographers and explorers alike. If they can figure out how to get there, that is.
2. Abandoned Tu-144 Jet, Russia
Many wonder the same thing when they first look at this photo: “why would someone park a TU-144 supersonic passenger jet in their backyard?” However, the correct question is, why would someone abandoned a plane in their backyard. Unfortunately, like the jungle 737, no one knows quite how this plane ended up in a backyard in Russia.
Quite literally, one day, a passerby just noticed the empty plane sitting there. Soon after, word started to get out to locals, and then the internet. Within weeks, dozens of pictures and videos hit the web. However, along with the photos, people started doing some research. Seems as though this plane is not as abandoned as its look made it seem. Its actually parked behind a building owned by Kazan University, which has quite the Aviation Department. So, they were just storing the plane where they had space. A few years later, the plane vanished as quickly as it arrived.
