After The Mummy came out in 1999, Breandan Fraser became one of the world’s biggest stars. However, despite having a few fantastic follow-ups, like Journey to the Center of the Earth and The Mummy Returns, Fraser could never achieve anything close to his initial success. Less than two decades after the Mummy came out in theaters and Fraser already found himself regulated to direct-to-video family features, some of which involved some serious weight gain for the celebrity.
“I needed a bigger butt on [because] of physical comedy…Kids love it. Adults love it. They’re like, ‘Ha-ha, look! Brendan Fraser, the guy who was really buff in all those action movies, has gotten fat,'” Fraser told Parade in 2010. “I don’t know the number of pounds I gained because, in my real life, I don’t step on scales. I don’t believe them. I’m like, ‘You’re a liar.'”
Since its release back in the ’90s, the hit film Titanic has remained a classic and likely forever will. In fact, it remains one of the biggest Oscar upsets ever, for while the film took home 13 wins, neither star Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio walked away with a prize. However, while Winslet didn’t win the Oscar, she won over audiences’ hearts when Titanic came out. Unfortunately, as time went on, the actress found herself suffering from celebrity weight gain.
Still, while Winslet may have put on a few pounds since her debut in Titanic, she looks very good for her age! Most recently, she starred in the drama Blackbird alongside Susan Sarandon, and next Winslet will reunite with James Cameron for Avatar 2!
During her first pregnancy, with daughter Maxwell Drew, singer-actress Jessica Simpson gained some 60 pounds of extra weight. In fact, Simpson said that the process even led her to create her maternity clothing line, which many call some of the most comfortable made. However, while her baby weight inspired a hit clothing line, the actress has also explained to fans on social media just how hard it is to lose the weight, even months after the birth!
While Simpson lost some of her weight in time, she gained much of it back after her second child. Now fans are working out right alongside the actress, who often shares workout routines and selfies on social media!
