When drones first went on sale to the public, no one could have predicted how big they would become. After all, previously only the military used the uncrewed aerial vehicles. However, soon, the world discovered there are many great uses for drones in everyday life, from shipping to racing to creating incredible light shows. However, one of the most popular applications for these devices today is photography. Drone photos allow us to see the world from angles and heights previously impossible.
Often, drone photos capture exactly what you’d imagine: skylines, whole sporting events, landscapes, and other hard-to-reach views. However, sometimes drone fliers snag photos of some extraordinary and fascinating scenes around the world. Read on to discover some of the greatest drone photos ever captured…
1. Great White Shark
Most of us would never enter the water if we knew there was a single great white shark around, let alone multiple. Jessica and Kelly, the paddle boarders in the drone photo above, on the other hand, don’t seem to mind. This photo was taken right off the California coast as part of a documentary on the relationship between sharks and humans.
While the rest of us probably wouldn’t high-five with a shark that close, Jessica and Kelly felt fine. In fact, they didn’t even care when five great white sharks surrounded them! “It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be so close to great whites in their natural habitat. At times, the sharks got so close to my paddleboard that I could see their color, fins, and gills in detail,” Kelly said. “I was so in the moment that I didn’t realize how much adrenaline I had until I was out of the water.”ed it in 2011.
