1. Stepping Away

When 2020 began, no one could have predicted the shakeup coming towards the British Royal Family. Then, just a few weeks into the year, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, Duke and Duchess of Sussex made an announcement that no one saw coming, not even Queen Elizabeth II. They decided that, in the best interest of their son Archie and their family, that they would “step back” from the Royal Family and become “financially independent.”
“The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back, is not one made lightly. It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option,” Prince Harry said at a charity dinner, shortly after the announcement.
