Vietnam offers many great attractions for tourists. From gorgeous natural landscapes to delicious food, there’s something for everyone. In June a one-of-a-kind bridge in Vietnam was finally opened, after a year of construction. Now in Ba Na Hills, just outside of Da Nang, visitors can walk across the “Golden Bridge.” This beautiful bridge is undoubtedly one of the most impressive in the world.
The Uniqueness Of The Beautiful Bridge
The Golden Bridge towers over 4,500 feet above sea level (1,400 meters) and nearly 500 feet above the ground below. At this elevation, visitors to the bridge receive an incredible view of the famous Annamite Range, which runs through Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia. However, it’s not only the views which bring in daily guests, but also the design of the structure. Two massive, sculpture hands cradle the bridge, almost seeming to carry it and its visitors. The hands are incredibly realistic, with carefully carved veins, fingernails, and knuckles.
Fantasy Or Real Life?
If you think the Golden Bridge looks like it could be a part of a fantasy film, you’re not alone. As photos of the bridge went viral, many people online thought it looked like it came straight out Lord of the Rings! We can just imagine hobbits running across the bridge on their way to an elven city.
Although the hands may look like stone, they’re made from a different material. A representative from the company that built the bridge, TA Landscape Architecture, said, “We designed the skeleton of the hands and covered them with steel meshes. Then we finished with fiberglass and added the theming on it. The entire construction of the bridge took about a year.”
A Desirable Destination For All
Upon opening, this beautiful bridge immediately became a tourist attraction. And rightfully so! It’s a wonderful getaway from the hectic cities, hidden in the Thien Thai Garden. With its breath-taking views, the Golden Bridge will surely attract millions of tourists from all over the world for years to come.
The Golden Bridge was part of the Vietnamese government’s recent $2 billion tourism investment. Each year, 1.5 million tourists visit the country. The Vietnamese government hopes to increase these numbers every year, and offer many more unique attractions and destinations.
