In a recent BBC Radio 1 interview, Camila Cabello admitted to stealing from the royal palace. Her antics and storytelling have already become a legend on the internet. However, Prince William and Duchess Kate may have had the final world with their hysterical response. Read on to discover the whole story…
Camila Cabello’s Shenanigans
If you had the chance to steal something from the Royal Palace, would you? Well, singer Camila Cabello did have the opportunity to steal something from the most famous family in the world – and she did!
Recently, the pop singer revealed that, during a visit to Kensington Palace in October, she took a little souvenir with her: a pencil. During the visit, she met with Prince William and Duchess Kate, to honor Radio 1 Teen Heroes. The tour was obviously planned, but Cabello’s little secret… was not.
The truth came out during an interview with BBC Radio 1 host, Greg James. James was also a part of the visit, and later interviewed the “Havana” singer about the special occasion. However, the interview took a hysterical turn when James revealed he “dared” Cabello to “steal something.”
During their on-air interview, James took listeners back to the moment in the palace. Apparently, he urged Cabello – “Steal something, steal that pencil!” In case you didn’t know, guests to the palace are not officially allowed to remove anything whatsoever. Even a pencil.
They were about to meet the Duke and Duchess when all of this went down; Cabello said to James on air that she “couldn’t say no.” Apparently, the Fifth Harmony alumni is a real daredevil. “You can’t not do a triple doggy dare,” she explained. “If there’s anything I’ve learned in my life, it’s that. So I did it.”
But then, the radio host did a 180 – and turned on the singer. “You, to one of the palace people, called me out on it, and were like, ‘She stole a pencil!'” Cabello then panicked, and thought to herself, “Oh my god. Oh my god.” Then, the singer continues, she put the pencil in her mom’s bag. To which her mom said. “No, we have to give it back. We have to give back the pencil!'”
Prince William And Duchess Kate’s Response
However, Cabello kept the pencil, and now she regrets it and offers her deepest apologies to the Duke and Duchess. In the interview, the singer said, “I’m sorry, William, and I’m sorry, Kate.”
The entire clip was uploaded to BBC Radio 1’s YouTube page, and then posted on Twitter. Did anyone think the royal couple, or anyone at the palace would notice or respond? Nope, but they did!
The official twitter page of Kensington Palace re-tweeted the interview clip and posted an emoji of eyes looking to the left. Many call these “shifty eyes” and use them to convey a “deceitful act.” The internet went crazy for it and loved the humored-tone in which the royals responded. As stated, it’s forbidden to steal anything from the palace – from a pencil to an English muffin. However, it seems that this time around, the palace though it better to simply drop it. While remaining as funny as ever, of course.
